Pre Treatment Advice
Pre-Treatment Advice for Laser Hair Removal
1. Shaving
Please shave the treatment area either the night before or on the morning of your appointment. If you’re unable to shave beforehand, let us know in advance so we can allocate extra time. Note: There will be an additional charge for this service.
2. Hair Removal Methods
During your laser treatment, shaving is the only method allowed for hair removal. Avoid waxing, tweezing, or epilation. You must wait at least three weeks after stopping these methods before starting laser hair removal.
3. Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least four weeks prior to your treatment. Sun exposure can affect your results and increase the risk of complications.
4. Tanning Products
Discontinue the use of any tanning products at least 7 days before your appointment.
5. Exfoliation
Gently exfoliate the treatment area before your session to prepare your skin.
6. Skin Care
Please arrive freshly washed, without applying any oils, lotions, fragrances, or creams to the treatment area. Daily use of SPF 30 or higher is recommended to protect your skin.
7. Chemical Peels & Laser Procedures
Avoid chemical peels or other laser treatments on the treatment area for two weeks before and after your laser hair removal session.
8. Topical Products
Discontinue the use of any topical products that can cause photosensitivity, such as salicylic acid, retinols, hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, tazorac, differin, or hydroquinone, at least 7 days before treatment.
9. Accutane
If you’ve used Accutane or similar medications in the last six months, laser treatment cannot be performed.
10. Botox & Fillers
You must wait at least 14 days before and after receiving Botox or dermal fillers in the treatment area before undergoing laser hair removal.
11. Antibiotics
Certain antibiotics can cause photosensitivity. If you’re taking long-term antibiotics, we recommend checking with your GP before treatment. If you start antibiotics, you must be off the medication for at least 7 days prior to laser treatment.
12. Skin Conditions
If you have any abnormal lesions, moles, or spots in the treatment area, they must be cleared by a medical practitioner before your session.
